Roku Ultra has been connected to a Phillips smart tv for a year no problem. Today it is stuck in headphone mode and I have went as far as resetting to factory settings. Still in headphone mode. Cannot get out of it using the Roku app either. I see suggestions for ROKU TVs but not for the stand alone ROKU Ultra. TV works fine using the terrible Phillips OS. Any suggestions?

I am having this problem as well with my Earfun AirPro3 bluetooth air buds. I connected them once and now the audio from the Ultra 4850R is connected until I get more than 50 feet from the Ultra. Tell me how to fix this problem please. Let my ear buds go!
According to the FAQs page for the Earfun Air Pro3, the effective range is 49 ft.

Instead of connecting them to the Ultra 4850 directly, you can try using the official Roku mobile app and then connect your earbuds to the mobile device (ie. your phone) via bluetooth. It is possible by using the mobile app/mobile device you can extend this range quite a bit.

I think you are misunderstanding the issue. Even though I turned off the wireless headphones app in Roku, the Ultra will not turn off its Bluetooth transmitter, totally overwhelming the Bluetooth music from my iphone. IMHO, when you turn the Ultra wireless headphones off the **bleep** thing should stop transmitting the television audio program.
Sorry, did misunderstand your issue. Thought you meant you wanted your eabuds to go further/be free (Let my ear buds go!) 🙂

Are you connecting directly to the Ultra 4850 with your earbuds through Settings/Remotes & Devices/Wireless Headphones or are you using the Mobile App to initiate Private Listening?
If connecting directly to 4850, try disabling "Auto-Connect" in the above settings, and also when you are finished streaming/using earbuds, try selecting "Disconnect" before closing out your streaming session.
If connecting through the Roku Mobile app, then verify you are ending the Private Listening by clicking on the headphone icon on the app's virtual remote. (should become un-highlighted). Then close the Roku mobile app on your mobile device.
