Picture too dark when viewing on regular tv

When viewing channels on my Roku device (Express 4K+) all pictures are darker than when I watch on regular tv. I do not have a ROKU TV so I cannot adjust brightness. Roku needs to add this feature or lighten the picture so it is not so dark.
