I have been searching for a method to either set a PIN lock when TV is switched on or set PIN lock for specific channels like youtube or hdmi port. This feature was available on lg webos. 

Is there any way to do this? Parental controls is something different. I like to lock the streaming channel itself without setting up multiple Roku accounts or deleting / adding youtube with PIN.

Any news if this basic feature would be rolled out with Roku updates?

Sorry, it's not possible now and Roku rarely gives any information on upcoming updates.  There is a place to suggest new features:
