I also have the same issue. The only way I can get the theme sounds to work is to reboot the TV using the reboot feature in Power settings. It will continue to work until the TV is turned off and then the sounds will not play until the reboot is initiated.

Yep there is definitely a problem since the 14.1 software update. My friend has a Phillips QLED Roku TV that is only 1 year old and that TV is experiencing the same thing so it's happening with different brands of TVs. Hopefully it will be fixed by the team doing the investigation soon. I only have one TV out of four that is not experiencing the problem. It's only happening with the Roku theme sounds. No problem whatsoever with sound from movies and shows.

To get this sorted out quickly, please provide the following info below.

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID)

Hi we are also experiencing this issue! 

We occasionally have issues with our soundbar and the sounds were helpful to identify when that was occurring before we navigated to what we wanted to watch/use. It would be great to have the themes sounds working again.

Hey everyone! 

Just wanted to see if you're still having trouble with the sound effects on your Roku devices. If you are, we recommend doing a system update on your device.

Here's how:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Software update
  5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates

My TVs were fixed I guess by the Roku team weeks ago but I checked a friend's TV yesterday and hers still is not fixed yet. Still no theme sounds unless a system restart is performed. She has a Phillips QLED TV 55". I have not sent in her info yet to the Roku team. All 3 TVs that I was having the issue with were fixed the same day. The next time I pay her a visit if she is still having the problem I will send her info in to the team. Thank you for following up on this matter.
