I have a Roku Soundbar. I got an email today offering me a Roku Express. Can I use the Express with the Soundbar? Do I want to do that? Will it actually be an upgrade or a lateral move?

Uh…. that message in the picture though…. what in the world?  Do they seriously think you own a Roku 1 when you actually own a Roku Streambar?  The Roku 1 2710 was released back in 2013 and as of summer 2020, the 2710 is no longer supported. I think this offer message is an error and they probably meant to send that message to whoever actually owned a Roku 1 2710.

You wouldn't want to use the Express with the Soundbar; it wouldn't be an improvement.  If you want an additional Roku device for another TV then you should get it.  If you have an old Roku 1 lying around it would be an improvement over that.

They no longer support the Roku 2710 as of summer 2020.  That model is now ported over to the Legacy Products column.
