Re: From Chromebook to Roku TV

Well, that's Google for you.  Breaking internet standards (and the internet in general) on a daily basis.  And that's when they're not out censoring content for their own personal agenda.

Re: From Chromebook to Roku TV

@jelabarre59

They actually took a page out of Microsoft's playbook from the 80s/90s: Embrance, Extend, Innovate (or Extinguish).

But yes, Google isnt exactly "playing fair" these days (hence complaints like Roku's, or the current/past Antitrust actions) - which, again, arguably makes them the new Microsoft.

And yes, their liberal/progressive/Democrat partisan/political behavior/policies/actions are well known at this point, if clearly unthwarted (even encouraged by the current administration/media).

Regardless the likelihood of future ChromeCast (GoogleCast) protocol compatibility in RokuOS is pretty low (due to official Cast Receiver requirements), though its possible.

Yup... what I have learned is... there is a reason Roku smart tv's are cheaper... they are virtually useless
