I like using the "default" plain old blue background wallpaper. After a few hours or overnight, when I return, the wallpaper has switched back to a "dynamic" wallpaper.

I've checked for updates, restarted, turned off seasonal and sponsored to no avail.

This has become annoying to me. What can be done to resolve this issue?

Try "Removing" the dynamic wallpaper that keeps appearing.

Go to Settings/Theme/Wallpaper and select the dynamic wallpaper.  Press OK.    Then Select "Remove Wallpaper"

Also, make sure that the Wallpaper you want to use is Selected and has a green check mark to it on the Wallpaper screen. (the check mark indicates the active/selected wallpaper).

With Seasonal and Sponsored disabled, Roku should only change from your selected wallpaper if that particular wallpaper becomes "unavailable" for some reason.

Okay, I went in a deleted all the "dynamic" themes but was unable to "remove/delete" one. It does not even provide an option to remove.

I'll wait a few hours and see how it goes. Unfortunately, the issue only happens after a few hours being idle.

Just checked. Wallpaper reverted to dynamic "Welcome to Roku City". Unable to delete this wallpaper.

Note: When I change back to Roku wallpaper, I noticed that if I go back to "themes", a window shows a box with wallpaper, screensaver and sounds (as I want) labeled as "Custom Themes". When I arrow right, My Theme Packs Roku City is the only theme shown with white check mark.

Shouldn't there be a "Roku default" theme pack shown in the My theme packs area?

Why does the Custom Themes disappear and revert to Roku City?

I wonder if the only way to resolve this is to factory reset. Ugh.... I'd hate to have to go back and re-enter credentials and make my preferred changes. 😩

A little strange.  Checked on my Express 4k+ (3941) and still see a default static purple theme there (selected).

Since it is not showing as available on yours, I doubt selecting "Restore Default Theme" will work, but worth a shot. (Settings/Theme/Restore Default Theme).

I would then try Restarting the Roku device. (Settings/System/Power/System Restart).  If still no-go, then try performing a Software Update (Settings/System/Software Update), followed by another System Restart.

If still a no-go, I guess i would try the dreaded Factory Reset. (press and hold in Reset for 30+ seconds).

No luck... did all that.

I may just live with it. Don't want to go the factory reset effort yet.

If you scroll through the Wallpapers (not the theme packs, but the wallpapers), do you see some Roku default ones available? (settings/themes/wallpapers)

Default wallpaper is there. I can select and it's good. Looks as I want it to be. Although as I said, after a while of inactivity, upon return, the wallpaper reverts to the "theme" wallpaper (Roku City).

It would be nice if I could just download/restore the old default "Roku theme" since the wallpaper and sounds are still there.
