I am beyond frustrated with trying to use Roku since the update doesn't work. Exactly what are we supposed to do if the update doesn't work?? We're still paying the bills but getting no channels. Thank you.

Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing?
Have you tried connecting your Roku device to an alternate wireless network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you are able to update your Roku device?
