I’m still waiting for help and am stressed out that our television doesn’t give me personal options to control Home Screen ad content. Not having the *hide button as an option when the ad we need to disappear is highlighted is not fair to families with triggered reactions. Im a very concerned and conscientious grandparent and this makes a simple evening watching television fretful. I need ability to edit out content specific to my family’s personal needs.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop, @PeteyBee!

I think the main problem here is the removal of the *hide option for a cyclical ad. It means for 24 hours, it is forced to be viewed on my home screen. Advertisements are expected, but there are more “sensitive” things than the general options and to require full access to our online activity in order to help algorithms doesn’t provide protection to individuals if they still have no option to remove certain subjects that are personally upsetting. On YouTube, it appears that opting out of Roku ads is practically impossible, so it really would be fair not to disable that *hide option on top of that. I don’t believe that forced advertising of unwanted subjects gives a safe and comfortable viewing experience.
Thanks for clarifying, @PeteyBee!
We understand that you're concerned about the ads you can't hide. However, we also need to know what ad was shown on your screen so we can examine it more closely.
It would be much appreciated if you could visit your inbox, and let's sort this out together from there. Thanks for your cooperation!
