The black screen saver is my selected option, but it is not the one that appears after 5 minutes, instead the one with the Roku floating logo comes up. It does not seem like I can delete the Roku pattern. For roughly 6 months I had the black screen pattern, but without me making any changes suddenly it was replaced by the Roku pattern and without any message or indication. I can't delete the Roku pattern as an option but as i just mentioned the black screen saver appears to be the one with the selected check mark. Please help, thanks!
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? Are you viewing the same channel that you previously used to see your selected screensaver?
If you are unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Once we have this information, we will be able to investigate the issue further.
Thanks,
Danny
All of my Roku devices (3 Ultras and 1 stick) now only display the Roku logo screensaver while watching YouTubeTV or YouTube. The assigned channel screensaver (Aquarium) works fine on every other service (Amazon, Netflix, etc.)
I know Roku and YouTube are at odds and will be very disappointed if you reply that it is YouTube's problem.
@JodyK, it's Youtube's problem. Sorry, couldn't resist.
The truth of the matter is that it's somewhat up to the developer of the channel/app how the screensaver functions and somewhat a limitation of the Roku "OS". The developer can replace the user's selected screensaver with one of his own, allow the selected screensaver to appear, or sometimes has no control whatsoever (like what happens when a video is paused). During video playback if you pause you'll see the "Logo Rain" screensaver or a blank screen. It's been that way for a long time. I'd be surprised if you can pause a video in any channel/app and have the aquarium appear.
You should see your selected screensaver when you're within a channel/app, but not currently watching a video. If you don't, then yes, it's something that the developer did or something about the channel that's causing it which may be that it's run into a limitation of what can be done on a Roku device.
It has nothing to do with anyone being at odds with anyone.
