I have a Roku Streambar, and when the connected TV switches off, it stops streaming (and goes back to the Roku home page).
I have also an older Roku 2 (4210X), and I would like it to do the same. Is this possible? It doesn't currently do it -- it continues streaming whatever it is currently streaming, even if the connected TV is off.
If the Roku 2 can't do this, what other Roku products besides the soundbar can do this?
Thanks.
When streaming, it's good practice to return to the Roku homescreen before shifting your TV to a different input or turning the TV off.
Since Roku OS version 9.2 was released in 2019, Roku players have had a "Bandwidth saver" function. This kicks in when the Roku has received no user input in four hours and asks if you are still watching. If it receives no response, it exits the current stream and returns the Roku to its home page. At that point, a further period of inactivity will trigger your screensaver if you have one enabled.
You can turn this feature on and off via Settings > Network > Bandwidth saver
Note that some individual channels may have a similar feature.
Thanks for the response.

I understand that, but when the TV turns off controlled by a built-in timer (sleep function), that's not possible. As I said, there are some Roku devices that sense that the TV is off and automatically stop streaming. I'd like to know which ones these are.

What I want is that whatever I was watching stops at the point where the TV shuts off. 4 hours later is not soon enough.
