4K streaming failure on Roku4

when attempting to switch my Roku4 to 4K resolution, I am getting a message informing me that my HDMI connection will not support 4K.   Is this an issue with my newer Samsung UHD tv or with the older Roku?

What's the model number of the TV?  Some only support 4k on certain HDMI inputs and you need a cable that's up to the task.
