I have an older Samsung TV with cdmi 1.4 and no ARC port. My Streambar Pro is connected by HDMI and optical cable. Using TV tuner with soundbar, I can't access any TV audio settings except the type of optical connection (PCM/Dolby Digital) and sound delay setting on TV presumably for synching sound with video. Sound quality is not good using TV tuner, and if I try to use the Roku remote to access sound settings, of course the streaming feature kicks in and I'm no longer watching broadcast TV. Any suggestions? The optical delay adjustment on the TV seems to vary with channel. I don't want to have to keep adjusting that for every broadcast channel!
You can turn off 1-touch play on the Roku (Under Home->Settings->System->Control other devices).
That will let you operate the Roku without switching to it. (It takes a little practice to make adjustments without seeing what you're doing, of course.)
Thanks, Strega. I will try that and see if it solves all the issues. Certainly it will fix the mode switching, but the audio synching, not sure. I'll respond after I try your suggestion.
