So this is my first roku I picked up at a yardsale for a whole 3 dollars it works great just no remote (app/harmony ftw). My only issue is I can not seem to find the youtube app in the channel store, is it not available for the n1000?

The N1000 was Roku's first streaming device.  It doesn't have nearly enough horsepower to run Google's bloated Youtube channel/app.  I'm not sure there was ever an official version for it, but today's version is definitely a no-go.

And since you're an admitted noob and you posted in the "Roku TV" section of the "community", you should note that Roku devices aren't known as "Roku TV" akin to "Apple TV".  A "Roku TV" is an actual TV with a built-in Roku device.
