can I connect NON roku bluetooth speaker to streambar and play main TV sound (not surround sound).
I have tv on covered back porch and want to connect waterproof bluetooth speakers to streambar to play main TV sound and also if connect phone/alexa to streambar to play the same sound as coming from the sound bar. These will be less than 30 ft but hard to hear TV volume over hot tub jets.
thanks
Hi @caseyspradlin,
Welcome, and thanks for your first post here in the Roku Community!
Yes, you can connect a non-Roku Bluetooth speaker. We've got guided steps for you here: How do I connect a Bluetooth® device to my Roku® device?
Or let us know if this answers your query. Thanks,
Rey
Thank you Ray. Just one other clarification. You confirmed what I wanted to do but the link you posted is about connecting a phone and it also says that you cannot connect things such as Bluetooth headphones which is basically the same as Bluetooth speakers.
thank you.
Hi @caseyspradlin,
Thanks for the update! We have additional information about this and this Support page will help you out: How to use Bluetooth headphones for private listening on your Roku streaming device.
Keep us posted!

No you can't
Only Roku wireless speakers will connect to a Roku tv via Bluetooth.
Roku's do not connect to Bluetooth Speakers of any kind. Phones, tablets, and headphones yes. No speakers. The Streambar can only connect to Roku branded devices, and never be Bluetooth. It uses Wifi-Direct.
Ok so let me get this straight you cannot hook up any other brand o wireless speaker to a Roku device.
