I have a non roku soundbar. I tried using component cables and the hdmi arc but neither seem to let sound through. The TV registers its existance and will connect with the hdmi cable but no sound will play. I can lower and rise the volume but no sound will go through. Can this be fixed?

@JBerrocales, have you gone through the TV's audio settings?

After connecting the soundbar to the arc, go into the Roku tv settings and refresh the cec devices.

I have gone through all the settings and the cec and there is no sound. Does this mean I need a new soundbar?

If you are still unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
