changing from HDMI 1 TO HDMI2 AND THEN BACK AGAIN

HELP   I am on Roku HDMI 2 and now want to go back to regular cable. 

I hit the TV button, go to HDMI 1. Then I hit the Cable button and it shoots back to HDMI 2.  How do I keep it at HDMI 1.
