Why is my stream bar crackling on Disney Plus and HBO MAX channels?

I have the Roku Streambar  and it’s great sound on most channels, but on Disney and HBO I get a lot of noise - crackling sounds, buzzing or static in the background. It almost sounds like it can’t handle the audio from the shows, like when you turn a stereo up too loud. What’s causing this? Is there a setting I can adjust to remedy it?

Re: Soundbar crackling and buzzing

Hi @AmyRo,

Thanks for getting in contact. I’d be happy to take a look and help you here. I’m sure we can get you up and running.

Please try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote, and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more.

If the issues still persist, could you please provide the serial number of the Roku Streambar by going to Setting> System > About.

Please keep us posted.

Thanks,

Mary

Re: Soundbar crackling and buzzing

I've had the same problem with the #streambar for a few months now, nothing works, I've gone through the whole threads regarding crackling and distortion nooces, I've restarted the device, I've removed channels, I've even reset to factory settings and the only thing that helps just a tiny bit is completely turning off bass

When I contacted technical service, they asked for every single detail of the device and adviced me to contact the "provider", I bought it off of Amazon, evidently they told me that the devolution window had passed, that I had to contact #Roku, directly, so I did yet again; they finally dismissed me just as they did you, never heard back from them, and I still have a broken streambar that I only bought in December, and I can't even use it for what I bought it for, since without proper bass it sounds inferior to my TV's own speakers.

Super disappointed with this device.

@drjoelpacheco

Thanks for the post. I'm sorry to hear about the experience—that's not what we aim for.

Can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Soundbar crackling and buzzing

Thanks Mary - I have tried removing the channels then restarting, and adding them back. Unfortunately didn't improve the issue with the audio. My serial number is below on this thread, but in case it's convenient here it is again: model 9102R, serial number YL008U723373.

Thanks!
