I have also been experiencing this issue for a few months. Removing and reinstalling applications does not resolve the issue. I also receive this behavior in TV (antenna) audio as my TV passes it through to the soundbar.
I have powered down for >5 minutes and powered back up. I have reseated and replaced my TOSLINK cable from the TV, I have reseated and replaced my HDMI cable from the TV. The only workaround I have seen is disabling bass on the soundbar entirely, which was the point of purchasing the product to begin with. The rattle seems to be more of an issue with defective physical woofers than software as the issue has gotten progressively worse. I'd also note the remote lag is significantly more noticable than the Roku 3 HD I bought this to replace for both my poor TV audio and my older Roku hardware.

I see a number of people are experiencing the same problem. The streambar worked fine for awhile and then distortion started happening on bass sounds. I live in Mexico so getting a replacement will be a problem. Are there any fixes to the problem. I see that some people have gotten replacement streambars and have experienced the same problem they had with the original unit.
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
I have the same problem with mine with crackling . It goes away with the bass shut off but that’s no good.

Hi! I've had my Roku Streambar for ten months and suddenly the sound has gone horribly wrong, with this same crackling and buzzing sound that makes it impossible to watch TV. It seems to be affecting everything — all my channels, my additional media via USB, or playing a Switch on HDMI-3. I've disconnected and re-connected my Streambar to the tv but it hasn't helped, and without it, my tv sound is fine (just, you know, "less than"). Up to now I've been very happy with my Roku purchases, but this is disheartening as it was an anniversary gift. Is there anything I can do or is this now a useless piece of tech?
I am here for the same reason most of these other people have posted. Had my ROKU soundbar a few months, loved it, then overnight it became distorted and almost impossible to listen to. On going have tried every normal fix to no avail.
At this point I really would like the unit replaced. If this was truly brought about by a firmware update, is there any fix in the future? I am very disappointed with this because I thought it was a great solution for better sound at a good price. I have all the information on my device. Who should I send it too?
Thank you.
