I'm considering buying the streambar. Initially I will use it as intended as a modest soundbar for my TV.
But in the future I might decide I want a more complete audio setup for my TV. Unfortunately Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer are not available in my country so I'd have to switch to a different audio system.
If I did this, would I be able to use the streambar as a regular Roku streaming device with its audio features disabled?
Thanks
My roku streambar speaker is beyond usable, its had a progressively worsening distortion since 6 months after I bought it and it just got to the point where it isnt tolerable. This is a common problem and ROKU tried to call me once to troubleshoot but nothing after that, I missed the call.
Id like to use it as a streaming device at least, instead of junking it.

Using a Roku Streambar connected to my Samsung TV via the HDMI-ARC port. On another HDMI port, I have another streaming device. This device will play video, but there's no audio. My understanding was that by using the HDMI-ARC port, other HDMI devcies connected to the TV would be able to play audio on the streambar. I've also connected an optical cable to the TV and Streambar to see if that would help, no luck. I have checked that I"m using latest software on all devices, and have tried resetting everything, but nothing. Any suggestions?
Both the Roku Streambar and Samsung tv have to identify each other as a hdmi-cec device, refresh the cec devices in the tv settings.
