Blu-ray .m2ts files I've ripped directly from my discs with Dolby Vision do not work. They start with a green screen then I can see the video, but with horribly distorted colors.

Any ideas on how to get remuxed MKVs with two video tracks into one DV track that plays on my TV?

OK, I figured out the problem totally. I have no idea how LG and Vizio TVs are doing Profile 7, but TVs are only supposed to support dvhe.04.07/dvhe.05.07 while UHD BD players can do dvhe.07.06/dvhe.07.07 which is what is mentioned in this thread. When I used dv-profile 5 instead of 7, it worked perfectly on my TCL Roku 4K TV and still retained 12 bit color info as it had two streams.

You can't rip Dolby Vision media and retain the DV metadata, unfortunately. Rippers such as MakeMKV can't handle it as yet. I don't know if it's a licensing issue. I have seen posts on forums that mention some special way to do it, but it was very complicated. You might try using Handbrake to redo the video.

It must be possible, though, because some random person on Reddit uploaded a demo clip from a movie that triggered the Dolby Vision symbol. Just need to figure out how to convert the unplayable 2 track Dolby Vision from Blu-rays into one stream that the demo videos use.
