I got talked into buying a on-line Smart TV, because my Senior wife wanted to watch DirecTV AND Netflix on it. BIG MISTAKE BUYING A SMART TV FOR MY WIFE!!! After calling DirecTV's Customer Field Service, it was determined that TWO (2) REMOTES were required to make this two program setup work!!! My wife wrote down 10" of instructions that ended up being nothing but confusing to her that evening. I'm told that the basic problem is with one of the remotes -- probably DirecTV's.
THIS MUST BE A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH SENIOR TCL USERS...ANY SOLUTION???
By the way, to add Netflix, it's not necessary to buy a new TV. A simple roku box could be added to an existing TV (presuming you have inputs available – if not there are solutions to that too) and it would have left the DirecTV interaction unchanged.
