I recently lost my remote so I ordered a replacement from Roku. It is a standard Roku remote, no pairing button. My device is a Sharp Roku TV. I put the batteries in and the remote doesn’t work. I even got up close to the TV and it still doesn’t work. I tried calling customer service but due to the situation, they aren’t taking calls. So, my question is.. is this remote compatible with Roku TVs? I tried it on my ONN Roku TV as well and it didn’t work. So, did I just get the wrong type of remote or is it defective?
Thanks for the post.
If you need a replacement remote for a Roku TV, you would need to contact your TV manufacturer. You can contact Sharp here: http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ContactUs.aspx or at 1-888-935-8880.
You can also purchase a remote that is compatible with your Roku TV here: https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/roku-tv
Thanks,

Its just the wrong remote, Roku tv's use a completely different IR code set then stand alone Rokus do, sorry. The only type of Roku tv remote Roku sells is the Wifi Voice Roku tv remote. I would go to ebay for Sharp IR Roku tv remote. If you want remote sooner go to Walmart either for Roku Wifi Voice remote, you would need to pair to the tv first. Or get the One-For-All Streamer universal remote urc-7935 from Walmart on sell for $16.88, works great with Roku tv's. That same remote can be found on ebay for about $10. Here's picture of it next to Roku Tv voice remote:
