Soundbar on earc does not work until tv started 2x

Bose soundbar with earc cable connected to the Roku TV. When you turn the TV on, no sound is heard. If you turn the TV off and back on, sometimes the sound starts working. Have tried both audio settings on the TV: auto and earc. Both behave the same - no audio until you start the TV 2 or 3 times or more. This is very annoying. How to figure out where the problem is so this can be resolved? Roku TV 65R635 with software version 14.0

Re: Soundbar on earc does not work until tv started 2x

Welcome to the Roku Community, @Habumaster!

When your Roku TV Ready soundbar is properly connected to your Roku TV, you should typically hear sound emanating from the soundbar. Nonetheless, if no sound is produced when you turn on the TV, it may indicate a potential issue that needs to be addressed.

Here's what you can do.

  • Disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable. Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable that connects your soundbar and Roku TV. Wait a moment and then firmly reattach both ends of the HDMI cable, making sure to use the HDMI ARC port on your TV.

If the behavior persists:

  • Power cycle your soundbar and TV. Unplug the power cord from both your Roku TV Ready soundbar and your Roku TV. After a few moments, plug the cords back in and power on both devices. Test again.

If the issue continues, we recommend visiting our support page on Why is there no sound on my Roku TV Ready soundbar?

Please keep us posted on how it goes.

Thanks,
Jharra
