I'm getting horrible sound quality out of my Roku Soundbar.
The sound is echoey and tinny. I can't stand watching anything with it.
I've tried playing around with the audio settings (bass, speech clarity, and volume modes), but it is still unbearable.
I'm wondering if the Soundbar is just broken??
Is there a way to reset the Soundbar?
Or is there an update I need to download?
I'm having a bad experience with my stream bar I would gladly replace it with a stick!
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? Are you playing content through the Roku Soundbar, or through the TV? How are you connected to the TV? Is this issue happening on a specific channel or does it happen regardless the channel you are watching?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Hi RokuDanny -
The Soundbar is connected to the TV via an HDMI cable.
Watching DVDs is especially bad. The DVD player is connected to the TV with RCA cables, and the audio is played through the Soundbar (which is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable).
The sound is also not very good when streaming through the Soundbar (Netflix, Youtube, etc). But I haven't watched these on the TV in awhile, so I'd have to test it to get you a good answer on how these sound compared to the DVD player.
The sound issue doesn't seem to be channel related.
Thanks!
Thanks for the follow up.
When you state that you are connected though HDMI, are you connected through HDMI (ARC) or just through normal HDMI?
Please keep us posted with that response as well as the previously requested information and we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
It is connected via HDMI (ARC).
I'll follow-up after I'm able to test out how the sound is when streaming.
The sound while streaming is better than when watching a DVD (using the soundbar for audio).
But it's still not very good. It's just hard to understand speech, and it's still echo-y.
The audio has gotten much worse from when we first got the soundbar. When we first got it it was a significant improvement over the TV audio. But no longer.
I wonder if it needs an upgrade, or is defective?
I used to recommend the soundbar to friends/family, but I no longer do.
