Roku tv and updates

Just got my first Roku tv a couple of months ago (8111X) and noticed that while my Roku 3 and Express have both received the 9.1 update, the tv is still on 9.0, so just wondering if the tv's are going to get 9.1 and if not is it normal for the tv's and the standalone boxes to be on a different update schedule?

Re: Roku tv and updates

Completely normal for different devices to receive updates at a different time. They paused rolling out 9.1 due to some issues and have just resumed the rollout. You should have it soon.

Yes, the way I understand it, the tv manufacturers are in charge of approving updates, so they may be released slower than other Roku devices.
Yeah, I got some Rokus.

Re: Roku tv and updates

Sorry to necro this thread, but my Roku tv got the 9.1.0 update yesterday and just wanted to mention it because it actually failed the first time, meaning  the update seemed to have installed and the tv rebooted, but it was still on 9.0.0, even after another reboot. So, tried the update again and it worked that time, just wanted to pass that along, it's a Roku tv 8111X / TCL Model 32S325.
