Using roku streaming stick + with Vizio soundbar. Was working great via hdmi for months then suddenly stopped. Roku remote can turn tv on and off but when pressing up volume on roku remote it turns soundbar volume down and random all over / off. 

tried rebooting soundbar, tv, streaming stick, software update nothing helps????

Try updating the cec devices in your tv settings menu. Since it roku remote controls the tv, and tv controls the vizio volume via hdmi-cec. That is the only way it works.
