Hello, my TV decided to just start freezing. It's odd, every 3 seconds it freezes and dims for 2 seconds and won't break the cycle. I've tried soft reset, hard reset, software updating, leaving it off for days, unplugging for mins and replugging. Nothing seems to work.
Hey Phoenix2Me79,
Question, is your TV plugged into the wall outlet or a surge protector? If it's in a surge protector then try plugging it into the wall, which many times has fixed the issue for people I've come across on forums and such.
On your Roku Remote, press the 'Home' button 5 times, and then press Up Arrow, Right Arrow, Down Arrow, Left Arrow, Up Arrow; which will take you to the Roku Secret Screen 2.
Here, go down to where it says 'Reset/Refresh...'
In this menu you can reset and/or refresh many operations, which tends to fix problems often.
Try choosing 'Reset software update check', 'Reset RPNS' and 'Refetch config'.
After this, press the 'Home' button.
Now, do a hard reset (which by your post I presume you know how to do, but just in case: press 'Home' 5 times, Up Arrow, Rewind, Rewind, Fast Forward, Fast Forward.)
That should fix the problem and if it doesn't, try turning your TV off and unplugging it from its power source and wait at least 5 minutes. During this time that your TV is unplugged, press and hold the physical power button on your TV (hopefully there is one) for at least 30 seconds to potentially release any excess battery juice.
Please let me know if any of these tips help or don't help you.
If they don't, I would say try performing a factory reset on your TV. I have had to do it once before and it ended up fixing the problem(s) my Roku TV was experiencing.
I hope any of what I said was helpful in any measure. Please let me know if you are still experiencing the issue!
I tried everything on this, and nothing is helping. It freezes and goes dim every 2-3 seconds, and comes back for 2-3 seconds. It's like watching a neon light flicker. When it goes dim I can see a previous screen water marked in the image. It does this on the home screen, so I know it's not an app or Internet issue. Is my display about to crash? I can't even get a screen when I select an input device. When I do use an app it plays the audio but freezes the picture.
