I have a Roku TV, less than 1 year old. For apparently no reason I can discern, the start-up screen opened up when I turned it on last night. Went through the process of setting up the Wi-Fi again, successfully, and it went directly to the update screen. got as far as the "TV will restart when updated" screen, then nothing. Let it run all night and no progress. Have tried rebooting EVERYTHING (TV, router & modem) repeatedly today, and no change. It will not let me back out of this screen to go to systems or settings.
Wi-Fi connected; signal excellent.
I have 2 other TVs, both with Roku plug-ins, that are working fine. It's only the Roku TV with everything "built in".

We're sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing – this is not what we aim for.
Have you tried contacting the TV manufacturer's support team to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS.
