Roku TV turning off and on

Why does my Roku smart tv keep turning off and on? It did this before and it magically fixed itself for a few months. But now its doing it again. It's gotta be an update that causes this because when it started doing it again my theme and other things were changed. HELP!!!! As many as this is happening to you think we'd get an answer on how to fix.

Re: HELP

Hi @Wisdom1970,

Thanks for reaching us.

We recommend performing a factory reset on your Roku TV to see if that resolves the issue you are experiencing?
For more information about how to perform a factory reset, visit our Support page here: How do I factory reset my Roku® streaming device?

We also suggest you reach out to the Roku TV manufacturer's customer support for the Roku TV issue for additional assistance.

Thanks,

Mary

Re: HELP

Factory reset does nothing for it. How can so many people that has this TV have this same problem and we can't get a resolve? This is ridiculous. My will work right for a few days..then suddenly go back to going on and off.

Re: HELP

@Wisdom1970

Thanks for the post.

This may be related to a hardware issue on your TV. Have you tried contacting your Roku TV manufacturer support yet to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.

Re: HELP

It might be your electrical outlet is going bad. If it fluctuates the electrical power slightly it may cause the issue. Also if the plug is not properly plugged in rear of tv or electric outlet. Unfortunately the only way to know if outlet fluctuates is a plug in digital meter that you keep plugged into same outlet. This issue occurs with FireStick. Not sure if it occurs with Roku too.

Re: HELP

If this was a hardware issue it wouldn't work right for a few months then go back to same thing..turning itself off and on. Then it'll work for a few days then start all over again..off and on. I contacted the manufacturer last year and they said it was a hardware issue and my TV isn't under warranty so no help there..lol. Right after that I plugged it back up and the theme had changed and Screensaver. So an update had happened and it worked for 2 months. Then all of a sudden..back doing the same thing.

Re: Roku TV turning off and on

MY Insignia NS-32DR310NA17 is doing the same thing after I did an update. I plug it in, it turns on, works fine for about 3 min, then restarts and starts over.

Can we get a new update to fix this issue? Please Roku help us! Mr Wood Guy
