Roku TV and Remote issue

I have trouble with the TV reading the remote or something. Like it will respond when I use the down arrow on in the menu, but it won’t respond when using the right arrow, or enter buttons. I put fresh batteries in it when I first noticed issues, but it still did the same thing. I found a different forum that said you can tell if it is your remote by opening your camera on your phone (selfie mode) and clicking a button. The remote is fine if you can see the red light. It said to unplug your Roku TV to power cycle to fix the remote issue. This also fixes my sound issue, but I have to do this at least once or twice a week.
