Roku TCL tv not playing any sound

There’s no sounds coming from any audio source from my tv and I’ve tried everything to fix it. It’s not on mute, I’ve done every kind of reboot and anything I’ve seen from videos online and nothing works. I have a Yamaha AV receiver connected to it so I’ve tried changing the settings on that, but it won’t even play sound from the tv speakers so it has to be something with the tv. Any idea why?

Re: Roku TCL tv not playing any sound

Hi @gianuh2@ceherr,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thanks for letting us know about the audio trouble with your TCL Roku TV that a Yamaha AV receiver connected and for taking steps to find a possible solution.

We'd be more than happy to look into this further. For us to help you better, we will ask a set of questions to isolate the issue:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Are there any changes in the setup or settings of your Roku device or your network provider that might cause the problem?
  • Are you receiving error messages or codes when accessing the channel?
  • Could you also tell us the specific troubleshooting steps you have taken so far to try to resolve the issue?
  • How are you connecting the AVRs to your Roku TV?

For troubleshooting purposes, we recommend unplugging and replugging the HDMI out of the Roku device or switching HDMI ports.

Visit our Support article for more steps on connecting a surround sound system to your Roku TV.

Please keep us posted on what you find out, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

All the best,
Chel
