This problem just started this week and I don't see where anything related to my wireless internet or any software updates on my Roku has happened. Looking for ideas or if potentially having a hardware issue.
Roku Soundbar: 9101X Software Version: 9.4.0 Build 4200-95
For the past week as I switch between apps I have noticed in some cases the app will say no internet is connected and give you the choice to test/setup. If you do a test, the test always works. If you just select ignore, the app will actually still load and work. So in all cases the internet is connected, the roku doesn't recognize it sometimes. Even when doing a test, the status will all say connected/excellent but I notice un the upper right by the date, will say "not connected."
I have also experienced a lot of sluggishness, wait/busy loading in apps. So it seems the Roku Soundbar is struggling with the internet. I have about 4 other Roku's (non-soundbar) around the house using the same internet and none of the others are having the issue.
If I reboot the soundbar, things seems fine. But it's not long before it starts happening again, this just started this week (I've had the soundbar since it was beta, over a year).
So wondering if there is anything to try, concerned my soundbar wireless hardware may be in early stages of failing as I can't point to any issues with the wifi and nothing else has changed.
Thanks
Thanks for the post.
Have you tried rebooting your wireless network to see if that resolves the issue you are experiencing?
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny,
Yes, I have eliminated the wireless as the issue as no other devices are having any issue with the wireless router, it hasn't changed, location, etc (it's right next to the soundbar). There's nothing related to the internet that is different in the past week. The only thing having a new issue is the soundbar and it's pretty consistent. As I mentioned, it thinks it's not connected but just choosing "proceed" it will load and stream find (although laggy in some cases). Doing test works each time and going to Setting -> Check connection will pass fine but take longer than it used to on the Internet Connection test (the wireless connect checkmark is near instant as normal) and on the status screen will show "connection check was successful" and signal strength excellent, internet download speed (always higher than 42mbps) the status will show connected but a few seconds later will change to Not connected.
So something in the Roku Soundbar is making it think the status is not connected.
Any other ideas?
Same thing happened to me I know it’s not the Internet because I’ve plugged in my old Roku express and it’s working just fine
Roku soundbar is very unreliable when picking up a wireless signal it’s beyond annoying when my $20 5 yr old Roku picks it up just fine
