I'd like to set up a home theatre with wireless surround sound, to minimize the number of wires. The projector will be overhead, so it makes sense to put a Roku Ultra 4K there with an HDMI to the projector. I would like to have a set of speakers or sound bar in front and speakers behind and probably a subwoofer. I see that Roku has wireless speakers, and it also streams to various audio devices. However, it is not clear if all of these can do wireless surround sound from the Roku 4K ultra to all of the devices without any additional hdmi cables. Can this be made to work, either with Roku audio or a 3rd party audio product?
The Roku wireless speakers and subwoofer can not be just used with a roku ultra, sorry. You have to have roku tv or roku streambar or roku soundbar.
If I get a Roku 2.0 Smart Soundbar with an ethernet connection, and run an HDCP 2.2 eArc cable to my projection TV which has an HDCP 2.2 input, then can that soundbar provide the TV signal through that cable and wirelessly do surround sound through other Roku speakers? It looks like it can, but want to confirm. If that will work, how many speakers can the soundbar support wirelessly? Thanks.
Neither roku soundbar or streambar has built-in ethernet port. It had been strictly wifi internet connection, until upgrade allow you to use certain ethernet to usb adapters to hard wire the sb for internet.
