As other users have stated, this is a real problem. I have Roku, Fire, and Apple TV devices on the same network. My Roku TVs just arrived out of storage, so they haven't been connected to the internet or used for months. Both are well-packed. They started just fine. The 40" Hisense model has slowed down to the point of unresponsive. The TCL model isn't so bad.
Performed the Factory Reset. The update applied, and the apps reloaded. The device started to slow down.
Unhappy since I was so careful with it.

You can connect your streaming device to a mobile hotspot as a temporary workaround to prevent an issue from occurring.

I've had the same issues on my TCL ROKU TV, it's been awful! I live in Savannah and it has been really bad!
