Hello,  I am in Oregon.  I have a TLC Roku TV and am having the same issue.  

I am able to play the following apps: PBS, A&E, Roku.  therefore, I know that my internet connection is not the problem.

I am not able to fully launch the following apps: Spotify, YoutubeTV, Youtube, Amazon Prime, Netflix.  Each of these apps immediately bumps me back to the home screen.

I did check for updates in the settings.  

I am reluctant to delete and reload apps since I see that others have done that unsuccessfully.  

This issue started for us this morning.  Hope it is fixed soon.

@tracynate Thanks for the note. A couple things you can try to troubleshoot this issue. 

  • For each channel experiencing this issue, try the following steps in order, to reinstall the channel
  1. Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the * key and choose 'Remove channel'.
  2. Immediately restart the TV from Settings>System>Power>System restart
  3. Once the Tv has restarted, go to 'Streaming channels' on the Righthand side of the Home screen and add the channel back once more. 
  • If performing the above process for each channel isn't resolving the issue, the next steps would be to perform a factory reset on the TV, and then set it up again fresh. This removes all data, channels, and login information from the TV, allowing you to set it up again anew. I know this may be a bit cumbersome, but it often can help resolve these types of issues. 

If you need any additional help from there, I'd recommend contacting your Roku TV manufacturer directly. They offer direct support and warranty services for their products. Hi there, I did both the system reset and removing channels on my TCL Roku TV and that didn’t work, and then did the factory reset and I am still having the same issue, where Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Now, and Sling TV are not streaming when I try to play a show. Also, now I’m noticing that the icons of the channel are blank for all these channels and others.  I have ever had this issue before.  Please advise.

Mother in law (84) has a Roku TLC (purchased from Costco as xmas present for her.)  A month ago she was unable to launch YTTV.  I had  to do a complete reset, and over the phone (due to C19) had to talk her thru the complete setup including wifi, and her channels.  Good news is that I was able to get her going.  Bad news is that 4 weeks later, we have a similar problem.  Reading the blogs, I'm not sure a full system restart will work.  I'm tempted to take the TV back to Costco and get a new one as YTTV seems to work on other sticks and Roku TLC devices.

Software/technical solutions need to be throughly vetted before releasing to market.

Looking for solution before trying Amazon fire stick (as some have suggested.)

Solution: Unplug the TV, Wait 1 minute, Plug in, then try again.   This solution allowed YTTV to launch!

the solution provided worked.(Solution: Unplug the TV, Wait 1 minute, Plug in, then try again.   This solution allowed YTTV to launch!)

 

I only needed to unplug the roku from the TV for about 30 seconds.

When I click the options, it doesn't give me the option to remove the channel I'm on. I cannot even remove and add again. There are three of us and I'm admin. I'm afraid if I totally exit, the other 2 people will lose everything!

Thanks for the post.

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? What channel are you seeing this issue occur? Can you please explain you are admin? Roku devices are setup to have one Roku account linked per device.
