Optical Cable won't stay connected

We just bought a smart sound bar. We are trying to connect the optical cable to the sound bar. It seems to go into the connector port on the back of the sound bar but it doesn't stay in the port. It's like it doesn't fit snug. Why is that and what do I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

Re: Optical Cable won't stay connected

Are you sure you're inserting it the whole way?  The first time I used an optical cable with anything I was surprised at how far I had to push it in.

Re: Optical Cable won't stay connected

The optical cables included with the Roku soundbar and Streambars are junk, buy amazon optical cable:

@bajaexpl

Thanks for the post.

Are you making sure to remove the plastic cover on the optical cable before using it to connect your devices?

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Optical Cable won't stay connected

You saved me time and money with this. I'm an actual programmer for two decades, built my own computers for just as long, but never used an optical cable before, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go in all the way and barely worked. 🤦
