The TV itself is independent and would not show a black screen if there was no service. You can try pulling the power cord for a bit, then see if it boots up properly. Otherwise, you may have a software or hardware failure.
Thanks for your help. We turned it off for a while and turned it back on and all was fine. I found a small message that there was a service outrage with Roku in their support FAQ. Anyway, the TV hardware was working, but the screen was blank, so I am inclined to believe there indeed was an issue with the software on their end. Thanks for your help 😀
