Doesn't mean it couldn't have been a hardware failure. But as subsequent posts have uncovered, it was related to the addition of the IPTV channels, and there was a quick way to restore the OTA channels. You're responding to a post I made two months ago, before the problem had been isolated and resolved.

Clearly, it does mean it wasn't, nor could have been a hardware failure by the very definition of the word, failure.

No, it's entirely possible the tuner could detect the channels but not properly decode them for display. That would be considered a hardware failure. Regardless, the solution was determined two months ago, so no reason to drag this up again.
