The new Streambar doesn't have an Ethernet port. Is there any way to use the streambar with a wired ethernet connection or is a wireless-only connection required?
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts and inquiries.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Danny
Basically, you are looking for a USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet adapter with a AX8877X or SMSC95XX chipset support capability.

The link here are the ones recommended by Roku for their devices. (All 2.0 10/100). https://support.roku.com/article/360058027813?_escaped_fragment_=
Although, generally USB 3.0 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapters are backwards compatible for most devices, it is not the case with the chipset drivers of the Roku. Just look for one that has the specs USB 2.0 10/100 and you should be fine.
Sorry but it is wireless only.
USB to Ethernet adapters are available. Different specifications.
Can such adapter be used on Streambar? What specification should it have for maximum compatibility.
What will be limitations and handicap of such a set up?
Thank you.
Arvind
It won't work with such adapter, the only way to get internet into the roku soundbar and streambar is by wifi.
The specs on the website for the streambar state an adapter can be used, but does not give specifics.
I am thinking of buying the streamer but still dost know what Ethernet to use adapters are compatible
I picked up an Ethernet adapter from Amazon - it did not work. Hope that I will be alerted here if someone has found one that does!
I found that a Ethernet adapter - usb to Ethernet - is needed. Apparently available from ROKU but no one can seem to find one....
One internet review gives a link to amazon so i just ordered one from ebay for £3 but still don't know if it is compatible with the streambar.
