Barely 1 month old and it suddenly started flashing this dark, blocks on the top of the screen....what an awful first impression.

Have you tried

SETTINGS > SYSTEM > POWER > RESTART >RESTART

yet?  That would be a good starting point.

Yes, also did a Factory Reset...and still shows inside apps like Youtube and Netflix.

Weirdly enough, it never shows on the home screen. Not even once

This may be related to a hardware issue. Have you tried contacting TCL support yet to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.
