My 2017 tv won’t play a 2020 flash drive usb

My 2017 Roku RV won’t play my 2020 flash drive usb. Is there anything that can be done? @can Roku s/w be updated?

Need more information.  What are you trying to play?  How are you trying to play it?  Do you have the Roku Media Player channel installed?  Rokus only support certain types of video and audio files.

I’m just trying to play a school function recorded on a flash drive. ROKU Mesia Player is installed, but just refers to 4 or 5 usb formats it plays. Idk what the format is on the flash drive

Can you put it into a computer and see what's on it?  It's probably not supported by Roku, but there's no way to know without knowing what's on the flash drive.
