Listen to Stream Bar and Turn TV off

Jump to solution

Is there a way to listen to the Stream Bar, (with the Roku Wireless speakers) and turn the TV off?  This would be great for using the Audio Apps.  Also, would like to play Bluetooth from my phone to the Soundbar, and turn off the TV.  Thank you for your help.

@Tim0

Thanks for the clarification.

If your TV does not have HDMI ARC and you are not connecting through optical cable, then your Streambar will not be able to play if you turn off your TV.

Thanks,
Danny

There is no solution on the page you suggested.  When I use a voice command, it says: "you can not turn off the display" .  The * button does not have an option to turn off the display.

@Tim0

Thanks for the clarification, if you do not have a Roku TV how are you connecting the Streambar to your TV? Is it through HDMI ARC or through HDMI with optical cable?

Have you tried turning off the TV while your Streambar plays to see what happens?

Please keep us posted.

Thanks,
Danny

HI,

I have the streambar connected to the TV with an HDMI cable.  No ARC, No Optical.

If I turn off the TV, with the roku remote, the streambar turns off.

If I turn the TV off manually at the TV, the streambar turns off.
