I have a Sony Bravia KDL-52V5100, I have connected the HDMI and plugged in the Roku Streambar. Because of the age of my TV I cannot use the optical cables. I've looked at your instructions for the Sony Bravia, and my menu does NOT show the following CEC or ARC instructions.
I've looked on the Sony Site with no help. So how do I set this up? And since I'm not a techy, it be nice to have clear concise instructions. If I'm to get audio what type of cord do I use, where would it go on the streambar?
Hmm… you say you can't use optical cables, but I found a manual here.

That manual shows it having an optical output port but I see no port labeled ARC. So, I think optical is actually the way you want to go on this one. (By the way, optical audio has been around since the 1980s. HDMI ARC is actually the newer thing.)

See the red and white plugs? That's my audio/optical. The ones that come with the Roku are smaller and square.
Those are electrical audio.
According to the manual, there is a side panel (that looks like your picture) and also a rear panel (where the optical is.)
Here's the drawing from the manual. The port indicated by [6] is what you want.
OMG! So it's in the back of the TV! now I just have to figure how to get behind my wall mounted TV! THANKS!
