ILive soundbar is not connecting to my TCL roku TV...

Just bought a new sound bar I Live and it is not connecting to my TV through the optical cable.  The sound bar does not have a HDMI but came with the optical cord.  All is plugged in and the TV just continues to search for the sound bar with no luck.  any suggestions?

Re: ILive soundbar is not connecting to my TCL roku TV...

Hi @mueri07,
Thank you for contacting us in the Roku Community!
We understand that you have tried to connect this directly to your Roku TCL TV by going to the audio devices, but it did not work.
Have you tried to connect this to your other TV? Are you getting the same problem after connecting it to a different TV?
If so, please reach out to your soundbar manufacturer to see what other insight they can provide.
Hope this helps clarify.
Best regards,
John

Make sure the optical cable is well seated on both ends. Optical cab l es can go bad, it's made of glass, one wrong bend can crack the fiber in the cable. Cables that come with equipment are junk, I would replace the cable with an aftermarket one. One that isn't all black, so you tell shape of the end.
