Hello, i have a HiSense Roku tv that i bought in ~2017. Hulu commercials are unbearably loud, and this is an issue with Roku specifically. I’ve seen plenty of questions answered with the generic “how to enable leveling” thing but 1) my TV doesn’t have that and 2) this doesn’t happen on my fire stick. Is there anything i can do OTHER THAN VOLUME LEVELING to fix this? If i watch the same exact tv show on Hulu with my fire stick (same TV) this doesn’t happen. But when i use the Roku TV’s Hulu app it’s unbelievably loud.
Hi @Alliecat420,
We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. I understand that you are having an issue with the commercial too loud with the Hulu channel.
We recommend starting here to troubleshoot channel issues: Follow these steps in order:
1.Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the * key on your remote, and choose 'Remove channel'.
2.Next, restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. (For Roku TV Settings>System>Power>System restart)
3.Once your player/TV starts up again, go to 'Streaming Channels' on the Home screen, and add the channel back once more.

If that still doesn't clear up the issue you're experiencing, we recommend contacting the channel provider directly to follow up for more help. They’ll be able to best assist with any issues that are occurring within their channel.

In my experience it is the shows and videos are muted to about 3/4 the volume. Other apps have the volume as loud as the commercials in Hulu. I too would like to know who to report this to. I reported it to Hulu with no action.
The solution provided does nothing. removing and reinstalling does not fix the issue.
Hi @PenguinJeff,
Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community!
Which other streaming channels are you experiencing this issue on aside from Hulu?
Have you restarted your device after removing the channel before adding the channel back once more? Please note that these steps should be followed accordingly to ensure the process is successful.
Keep us posted and we'll continue assisting from there if needed.
Regards,
Mary
