How to use Streambar to play music without turning on TV from Spotify with my iPhone?

I just bought the Roku Streambar and I have paired with my iPhone. Now I want to play Spotify on my iPhone using my Streambar with my TV screen turn off. Any suggestion?

@prum888

Thanks for the inquiry.

We would recommend taking a look at the information provided by our Support page to see if it resolve the issue you are seeing: How do I listen to music when the screen on my Roku TV™ is off?

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks,

Re: How to use Streambar to play music without turning on TV from Spotify with my iPhone?

Hey there I have the same issue. I have a streambar playing through a 2017 sharp roku TV. I have fast TV option turned on in the sharp roku TV interface but in the new streambar interface (that you access through the old roku TV interface) there is no 'power' or 'fast tv' option. With this set up as soon as I airplay podcasts or spotify to the roku streambar when the TV is off - it comes on straight away.

Any suggestions? It would also be great not to have to go through the old interface to get to the streambar so any help there would be useful too.

Thanks!

@Kuang

Thanks for the post.

If you are unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku TV and Roku soundbar device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
-when did you start seeing this issue occur?

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny
