Re: Problem With Alexa + Roku TV

TCL-Roku TV 55R635

Roku TV A113X

Serial X003006WC84Y

Telling Alexa to turn off the TV gets a response of "This device is disabled."  But Alexa can control apps and features.  Just cannot turn off/on the TV.

@rammjet

Thanks for the post.

Have you already made sure that Fast TV Start is enabled on your TV in order for Alexa to be able to turn on/off your TV. For more information about enabling Fast TV on your Roku TV, visit our Support page here: Fast TV Start

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: How to fix Alexa not controlling my Roku TV

@RokuDanny-R

I turned on Fast Start and restarted my Echo.  I also restarted the TV.

When I say "Turn on the TV" or "Turn on Roku", Alexa still says "This device is disabled. Please re-enable it to control it."

I have removed/added Roku to Alexa many times.

Update:  I unlinked my TV from Roku and removed the Alexa skill.  Set everything up again and now I can "turn on Roku" successfully.

Thanks for the offer but I have stopped playing with it.  Ultimately I was spending too much time trying to enable the features vs just using the TV remote.
