How to disconnect mobile remote

Jump to solution

I just got my roku tv and it seems like the mobile roku app remote works and not the actual physical remote. I’ve tried to figure how to disconnect my mobile phone and try to use the physical remote but it still doesn’t work. I don’t have the roku stock and this is very inconvenient when I leave home and my husband would be at home wanting to watch something yet the mobile remote only works on my phone. PLUS it’s been draining my phone battery. HELP PLEASE!

@Pittman2020  Thanks for the note. The Roku mobile app and your Roku TV's remote can both be used to control your Roku TV. If you are having an issue with your remote functioning correctly, we'd recommend troubleshooting the remote. Start by replacing the batteries in the remote, and restarting your TV from Settings>System>Power>System restart.

If your Roku TV model uses a wireless point anywhere remote, you may need to re-pair the remote to your TV. You can see the steps for doing this here: https://support.roku.com/article/360011621473-how-do-i-set-up-my-roku-enhanced-point-anywhere-remote...

For concerns with your mobile device, you can simply uninstall the Roku mobile app from your phone.

If you need additional assistance, feel free to contact your Roku TV manufacturer directly for more support and any other questions you may have. You can locate their contact information here: https://community.roku.com/t5/Manufacturer-Support-Warranty-Resources/bd-p/rokutv-resources

Thanks,

Tanner
