I tried everything, including factory reset. I also tried your suggestion with switching the audio, but unfortunately that did not work.
I called Hisense, and they said it is probably a hardware problem and since I have had the tv for 18 months, I am out of warranty. They said to contact Roku. I did. Roku said it's a hardware problem and to contact Hisense. So basically I now need to buy a new tv unless I want to continue listening through the Roku app on my phone.
I cannot understand how a perfectly good tv stops working after you plug headphones in. How exactly does the hardware break after plugging in headphones for 1 hour?

Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.
You would need to contact Hisense for further assistance with your issue.
